What is a bot? The term bot is also referred to as "crawlers," "spiders," or "robots." It's short for "search engine robots." Bots are actions taken by search engines to visit and index a website. They automatically collect web pages, store those pages, and analyze all the content to create searchable indexes which we call search engines.
